Tsunami Advisory Cancellation
#35 issued 03/12/2011 at 8:10AM PST
The Tsunami Advisory is canceled for the coastal areas from Alamitos Bay, California (20 miles SE of L.A.) to the Oregon-California border.
Damaging tsunamis are no longer expected to impact the U.S. west
coast states, Alaska, and British Columbia. As
local conditions can cause a wide variation in tsunami impact,
the all clear determinations must be made by local authorities.
Tsunami amplitudes have dropped below dangerous levels at most
locations along the U.S. west coast, Alaska and Canada. Sea
level conditions still vary greatly from location to location
along the coast. Decisions relating to reoccupation of coastal
zones must be made by local authorities.
